Hello Lavender Cycling Trail (LCT) people,
Perscribed Burn: Immediately north of Watervale where the Riesling Trail meets Solly Hill Road.

Thursday 21 Nov 2024 from 1230 – 1700 hrs.

Please note the Department for Environment and Water will be conducting a prescribed burn on the Riesling Trail this Thursday 21 Nov from 1230 – 1700 hrs.

This section also forms part of the Lavender and Mawson Trails.

The location is immediately north of Watervale where the Riesling Trail meets Solly Hill road. (see map).

Walkers & riders will be diverted around the burn site via Sollys Hill road and Mt Horrocks road for the duration of the burn.

Please Note: You are travelling on public roads.
Although you are generally riding on back roads, traffic may be encountered at any time of the year, so listen out, prepare for thier passing, and give them a wave.
Additionally: Large/long haul grain trucks and big farming equipment
(oversized) for sowing/harvesting and generally increased vehicle traffic may be encountered throught the year with increased traffic during the sowing season March to June and harvest season September to December. The operator may not expect to find a cyclist on the road, so please stay alert, and get off the road in a safe manner, enjoy your ride and admire the equipment and workers who help feed the nation.
